The Archipelago of Fernando de Noronha is located four degrees under the Equator, 540 km from Pernambuco and 360 km from Rio Grande do Norte. It is the top of a mountain chain of volcanic origin, seated four thousand meters deep.
Consisting of 21 islands with the main island occupying 17 square km. The island offers basic services such as electricity, water treatment, waste mill, airport and port, public school, day care center, communication system, public hospital, and bank.
Today after a development of the tourism trade, the island is authorized to welcome 420 people at a time, to enjoy jeep rides, hikes, boats, fishing and diving.
