Located
at the border of Brazil, Argentina and Paraguay, the
falls are a unique spectacle that attracts tourists from all over the
world. The Itaipu Dam nearby is the largest electric plant in the world. The
Iguaçu Falls are made of over 275 different waterways
that upon joining, crash 80 meters into the chasm
below. On the Brazilian side, the falls are part of a 425,00 acre National
Park in which the Hotel das Cataratas is located. Craft lovers can choose
among a large selection of woolen and leather goods.

Escorted walking tour of the Brazilian side of the falls through path footbridges and belvederes, all strategically placed to give the tourist the best view, allowing to see each and every fall. The bottom of the falls can also be reached by a panoramic elevator. For those staying in hotels other than Cataratas, this tour includes transfers to and from the falls.

- ITAIPU POWER PLANT
Daily at 9:15 AM and 3: 15 PM. Approximate duration: 3 hours.
A fascinating tour to the largest hydroelectric power plant in the world including technical explanations and documentary movie on the construction of the hydroelectric project. Tour also includes a ride through the bi-national area and the site of the power plant, and a general view of the dam. On the return trip, the bus rides along the Itaipu Lake and the Village of Itaipu.

- MACUCO BOAT SAFARI

This has become one of the most popular tours in the area. Transfer in vehicle to Km 25 on the Cataratas Highway on the Iguaçu National Park, to board jeeps, the best form of transportation in the National Park. On this trip, passengers will get to know several different species of sub-tropical plants and trees, including the heart-of-palms, which grows in abundance there. With luck, animals and some of the beautiful birds of the region can be seen. After a jeep ride of 3 Km, a 600 meter walk through the forest to visit the Macuco Falls will lead to the banks of the Iguaçu River. There, in safe open boats with outboard engines and a capacity of 12 passengers each, cruise up river in the middle of the Iguaçu River to enjoy a view of the unforgettable Iguaçu Falls. If the level of the river allows, it is possible to get right next to the falls themselves, where the passenger will experience a thrill never to be forgotten.

Travel in comfortable vehicles crossing the international bridge over the Iguaçu River, marking the border between Brazil and Argentina. On the Argentinean side, walk through rustic tracks and footbridges to reach the Devil’s gorge, one of the most beautiful falls in the area. The walkway sprawls over 3km along the Iguaçu River canyon, allowing views of the San Martin, Dos Hermanos, Bosetti, Adam and Eve falls, among others. For the adventurers opportunity to take a ride on rubber-boats up to the Devil’s Throat fall, a dazzling experience.
